The short version

This site keeps cookies to a minimum. It uses only the small, necessary cookies needed to make the site work and keep it secure. It does not use advertising cookies, and it does not track you across other websites. Its visitor statistics are collected without cookies. Because of this, you should not be asked to accept tracking cookies here.

A cookie is a small file a website can store on your device, for example to remember that you are logged in. Similar technologies (like local storage) work the same way. This notice covers all of them.

What this site uses

1. Strictly necessary cookies (always on). These make the site function and stay secure. They include a login/session cookie, set only if you are a member and actively sign in, so you stay logged in as you move between pages; and security cookies set by Cloudflare, the service that protects the site from attacks and abuse. These do not track you for advertising and cannot be switched off without breaking basic functions, which is why privacy law does not require asking your permission for them.

2. Analytics (no cookies). I use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly analytics to see aggregate numbers like how many people visit and which posts are popular. It does not set cookies on your device, does not identify you, and does not follow you to other sites.

3. What this site does NOT use. No Google Analytics. No advertising or marketing cookies. No cross-site tracking or profiling. No social-media tracking pixels.

Third-party content

Some pages may link to or embed outside content (for example a video or a social post). If you interact with embedded third-party content, that third party may set its own cookies under its own policy. I keep such embeds to a minimum.

Managing cookies

Because the site only uses strictly-necessary cookies, there is nothing tracking to turn off here. You can still clear or block cookies anytime in your browser settings, though blocking the necessary ones may stop features like staying logged in from working.

Changes

If I ever add anything that uses non-essential cookies (I have no plans to), I will update this notice first and add a proper consent banner before it loads.
